The southern terminus Each year sharks go on a migration down south in search of warmer temperatures, and at the moment the area around Miami is about the southern terminus of this route. This means that they come down here, and remain in this area. There are thousands of them. There is no better time than right now to get in on the action. Not only is it the perfect place to get out and go after some fun, excitement, and adventure, but there are tons of captains and crews ready to take you out and show you the ropes. Record numbers Not only are there thousands of sharks down here in the water, there are some gigantic ones too. Just ask some of the fishing charters that have come back with 1,000 pound hammerheads! During peak migration periods, the sharks hang out in the water right off of the beaches so the city outlaws swimming during this time to keep people safe.
