INSHORE – Inshore we are seeing good numbers of Ground Mullet (Kingfish, Gulf) along with great numbers of White Trout (Seatrout, Sand) and Specks (Seatrout, Spotted). They are all swimming in the Gulfport Harbor. Around Ship Island we are seeing limits of Redfish (Drum, Red) and a good Sheepshead bite on structure. Small Snapper (Snapper, Gray) have been caught as well. Search the cuts for some great fish. The Sheepshead have been consistent all week. There are some Drum (Drum, Black), White Trout and Ground Mullet mixed in. The incoming tide is the best time to fish so far this week. The Reds generally prefer this time. Pro Angler App Users – Tap a fish below the report for more angling tips and tricks!

BAIT REPORT – There has been more bait than normal at this time of year. Minnows and a lot of Mullet are swimming. There may be some Pogies (Menhaden) below the surface. Search inside the islands around the cuts. Birds will give their location away.

INSHORE – Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) are showing up around the backside of Katrina Reef this week. The Flounder (Flounder, Southern) are hot so far, the bay areas and the point are producing well. Shell Reefs are holding White Trout (Seatrout, Sand) and Ground Mullet (Kingfish, Southern) that the smaller boats are taking advantage of. Boats to Chandalier have been cancelled due to weather as of late however we hope to see trips fire up soon.

OFFSHORE – Tuna (Tuna, Blackfin & Tuna, Yellowfin) are still being caught offshore this week. When the weather offers up a window, fish the horseshoe and the salt domes.

BAIT REPORT – Shrimp can be caught this week, especially around Ocean Springs. The cold snap might slow them down a bit.

INSHORE – The wind in the area hasn’t stopped everyone this week. Capt. Jay has still been hitting the islands inshore to target Sheepshead, Trout (Seatrout, Spotted), Drum (Drum, Black) and Reds (Drum, Red). He has been heading out early in the day and fishing both inside and outside around structure. The Sheepshead and Drum are a bit scattered however there are plenty of Trout and Reds. INSHORE – Fishing has been pretty good over the last week. In the last few days. Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) are swimming the Jordan and Wolf River. They are on fire. We hope to see this continue after the upcoming rain systems. You can fish for them right off the pier as long as there isn’t too much of a freshwater mix. INSHORE – Inshore we are seeing a lot of Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) in the bay. Billy Bay Shrimp are working well to hook them. The artificials are have hooked more fish than live bait this week. Clear Gold Sparkle is a great choice in color. By the Palace and Back Bay, we are seeing good numbers along with Katrina Reef and Moses Pier in Gulfport. Pro Angler App Users – Tap a fish below the report for more angling tips and tricks!

OFFSHORE – Tuna (Tuna, Yellowfin) have been caught to the South around the Horseshoes. The boats are getting limits of fish with sizes up to 80 lbs. The early morning bite is on fire. The trolling bite has been pretty decent and Dead Pogies on the chunk bite has produced nice catches too.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – The fishing has been a bit slow recently. We are seeing some Sheepshead in the back. They are huge sizes and far more prominent than the Specks (Seatrout, Spotted). The Specks caught in the back are bigger than the ones off the piers that are just undersized. The larger fish are up to 18 inches. Reds (Drum, Red) are turning up as well. They are mostly legal sized fish. With the low salinity levels and the freshwater mix the bite has been slower but we hope to see things pick up into the weekend. Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – With the recent weather patterns there hasn’t been a lot changing in the past week. We are seeing a few nice days so anglers are getting out on the bay to slow troll for Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) and Redfish (Drum, Red). Biloxi Bayou and Rigolets should be holding some fish as well. The Black Drum (Drum, Black) and Sheepshead are expected to continue turning up around structured areas such as the piers and bridges when anglers can get out on the water again. Pro Angler App Users – Tap a fish below the report for more angling tips and tricks!

OFFSHORE – When anglers are able to make it on the water we continue to see a scattered bite of Yellowfin (Tuna, Yellowfin) turning up. You’ll have to put some time into find them. Previously they were around the 60 mile mark however conditions may have stirred them up and pushed them to different locations.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – With all the rain the inshore fishing is hit or miss into this week. It’s been raining for the past few days consecutively. The Specks are likely pushed out of the river and into the bays as they attempt to find more salinated water. Out of Long Beach Harbor we are seeing limits of Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) when the weather is favorable. They are the main bite along with Redfish (Drum, Red) and White Trout (Seatrout, Sand). Find the clean water to find the best bite. Gulfport Tackle Box has tons of Shrimp for all your fishing needs! Pro Angler App Users – Tap a fish below the report for more angling tips and tricks!

OFFSHORE – Some charters are heading offshore to fish the wrecks around Ship Island and the Sound of Camille Cut around the tanks and barges. Nice Sheepshead, Reds (Drum, Red) and Black Drum (Drum, Black) are turning up. This is about 15-20 miles offshore.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – Anglers are doing well this week and Shrimp is the best bait. The early afternoon around Bay St. Louis, The Pass, the back and the Jordan are all holding great Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) in 3 ft or less. Fish when the tide is in. They are about 2.5 ft down. Shrimp under a popping cork is a must. This is the best time of year to hook them! Redfish (Drum, Red) and Sheepshead are biting as well. Sheepshead are on the bottom as well. Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – Anglers are catching a few Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) in the bay area. Billy Bay Gulp Shrimp has been the hot ticket to catch them. With this cold snap, the midday Trout bite will be productive once the sun is up high. Fort Bayou and Bay of Biloxi are holding nice Trout in the deeper water and deeper holes. Flounder (Flounder, Southern) are in the bay as well. The nice thing about the cold weather is that it concentrates the Trout into pockets of warmer water. When you get on a fish, know that there’s likely more fish hiding in the same spot. Pro Angler App Users – Tap a fish below the report for more angling tips and tricks!

OFFSHORE – When the weather allows you to even make it out of the rivers, there’s a good Wahoo bite offshore. Sizes of Wahoo have been good out at some of the far off rigs. Again, it’s just been tough to even get there.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – Fishing the back bays of Gulfport or Bay St. Louis has been outstanding so far. Anglers are heading out at night. The prior lack of rain has pushed a whole lot of salt and Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) into the back. They aren’t big but there are good numbers. Live bait is working better than anything. For live bait, Shrimp is going to be your best bet. A Yo-Zuri Minnow with a sinker is a great alternative. The Bay St. Louis Pass is fishing well too. The bite looks good for the weekend. Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – Redfish (Drum, Red) and Snapper (Snapper, Gray) have been caught this week however anglers seem to be heading towards Louisiana. The wind is beginning to settle down so we hope to see the bite pick back up. Recently we were seeing limits of Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) and Redfish around Chandelier. The moving tide was most productive, especially in the morning or afternoon. Live or frozen Shrimp are your best bet to hook them. If the waters are a bit choppy a Squid strip will stay on your hook a bit better. Alternatively, Matrix Shad in Avocado or Green Hornet continue to work well in terms of artificials this week. INSHORE – Spanish (Mackerel, Spanish) and Kings (Mackerel, King) are hitting well this week. Big Bull Reds (Drum, Red) have just arrived around the islands. Anglers are trolling using Drone Spoons. Number 1 Captain Action spoons are working well for the Mackerel. Nice catches of Flounder (Flounder, Southern) are biting from the bottom by the bridges. They are eating dead Shrimp or cut bait.

OFFSHORE – Offshore the Tuna (Tuna, Blackfin) have been hitting well. Anglers are tagging and releasing tons of Marlin (Billfish – Marlin, White) and Sails (Billfish – Sailfish). A lot of Dolphin are hanging out at the riptide as well. The best fish are about 65 miles out.

INSHORE – Flounder (Flounder, Southern) and Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) are the main focus this week. Flounder are hitting around the sea wall in about 6 ft of water. Keep in mind, as the temperatures increase we will see the Trout begin to move to the deeper water and hide in the cooler holes. The early morning bite will be most productive for them before the water gets too warm.

OFFSHORE – Snapper (Snapper, Red) are now open and biting consistently this week. We expect to see this heat up as the season progresses.

INSHORE – Around Moses Pier, there are lots of Speckled Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) with limits being caught constantly. Anglers have primarily been using live Shrimp to catch the Trout, but Mud Minnows have also worked as an alternative. The Redfish (Drum, Red) are starting to show up but there numbers are still low. Flounder (Flounder, Southern) are starting to bite and are easily caught on the left side of Moses Pier with up to 6 Flounder being caught within 30 minutes! The Flounder are mostly shorter as of now but their sizes are expected to get larger in the near future. Check in with Gulfport Harbor to get information on all their upcoming tournaments.

INSHORE – A lot of Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) are showing up this week. Anglers are mainly free lining live Shrimp to catch them. They are swimming pretty deep this week. The moving tide is providing the biggest sizes. The same goes for Redfish (Drum, Red) on a Carolina rig. They are sitting on the edges of the gullies. The big Reds are schooling up in the deeper nearshore water as well. Check in with Gulfport Harbor to get information on all their upcoming tournaments!

INSHORE – Things have been great this week. The Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) and Redfish (Drum, Red) are hot this week. Near the Chandeleur Islands the fish are big, up to 3 lb Trout. The other islands are hot as well, this may be due to the Spillway being open and the Trout coming out of the marsh. Anglers are cutting trips short as they are limiting out early. The Biloxi Bay Flounder (Flounder, Southern) are showing up this week. The charter boats are chasing the big Bull Reds. It has been the main focus for them.

Bonito (Bonito, Little Tunny) and Jacks (Jack, Crevalle) are also mixed in at the island with them. The Chandeleur Islands are producing Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) and Redfish (Drum, Red) this week. The Bay is holding some Flounder (Flounder, Southern). They are decent sizes. White Trout (Seatrout, Sand) are also catching right off the reefs. Things are on schedule for this time of year. The rain messes conditions up a bit but otherwise the bite is on time.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) and Redfish (Drum, Red) are biting well inshore this week. The rain has really collected so the rivers are still high dumping into the bay and the Mississippi Sound. The salinity levels are still low in the bay and around the islands. The fishing has been hot and cold because of this. Drum (Drum, Black) and Sheepshead have not moved out yet so they can still be found on structure. A few Pompano (Pompano, Florida) are on the beach.

OFFSHORE – Mangrove Snapper (Snapper, Gray) are on the offshore wrecks this week. This is a good sign of a Spring pattern. We hope to see this continue and increase throughout the season.

INSHORE – This week the marsh is holding some Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) that are working their way to the northern end of the LA Marsh and into Lac Borgne. They can be caught on a soft plastic or Vudu Shrimp under a popping cork. Work it on the bottom with a quarter oz jighead. This will be the most productive until the Croaker takes off. We expect this to continue into the weekend.

INSHORE – There are some Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) hitting by the bridge this week. Drum (Drum, Black), Sheepshead, and White Trout (Seatrout, Sand) have also come in. They are holding up around structures in slightly deeper water. The weather has been less than ideal in this area so things have slowed down as anglers hesitate to hit the water. We hope to see conditions improve for the weekend and the bite begin to pick back up.

OFFSHORE – We have some reports of Cobia coming off the island. The sizes and bite are not hot as of yet but it’s still pretty early. This is a great sign of a Spring pattern setting in. We hope to see conditions improve as the weather heats up.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – Great time today on the boat for sure, but water is still quite dirty and fresh. You have to run east or south of Pass Christian to find cleaner water. Approx 13 miles south or 10 miles east. I fished the outside marsh islands in pockets of clean water and saw a few fish slicks. I was fishing a rattle cork with a 30 inch Fluorocarbon leader tied directly to a natural color Vudu shrimp. I cast to the leading edges of the slicks and caught a few Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) by a pop, pause, retrieve method. A lot of the fish were undersized throwbacks, but did manage half a dozen keepers. Tide was on a slight rise and bait was scarce. Conditions are improving but it will most likely take about another week of little to no rain to get it right where it needs to be! Remember, the key right now is finding clean / clearer water! INSHORE – The wind is pretty strong offshore so it has not been easy for anglers to head out however there is some great action inside. The Katrina Reef is holding some great Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) and Redfish (Drum, Red) this week. Live bait has worked best in this area. Around the bridge anglers can find Sheepshead and White Trout (Seatrout, Sand). Fishing the bottom with a jighead and some cut bait will do well to hook them. Any artificial with sparkle will attract some great sizes. We expect to see this continue into the weekend. There are tons of live and frozen bait at Gorenflo’s Tackle Shop. INSHORE – There is quite a bit of decent action in the area this week. Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) and Redfish (Drum, Red) are doing well by the bridges on topwater Mirrolures TT18 or 52750. Anglers are wade fishing or fishing off the bridge. The bay is producing White Trout (Seatrout, Sand) on the reefs and Ground Mullet (Kingfish, Southern & Kingfish, Northern) using dead bait such as Squid or Shrimp.

OFFSHORE – There is a great bite around the horseshoe. There are some nice Tuna (Tuna, Blackfin & Tuna, Yellowfin) between 80-130 out. Anglers are chunking to hook them using Porgies. The bite has been very consistent so far.

BAIT REPORT – Small Porgy are beginning to show up in this area.

INSHORE – Flounder (Flounder, Southern), Trout (Seatrout, Spotted), Sheepshead and Drum (Drum, Black) are hitting well inshore this week. There is a bit of freshwater mix this week due to all the rain however this has not affected the fish too much. Anglers are sticking to structure with fresh dead and live bait. Anglers gearing up for the Spring bite can always check out our Fish feature which provides more information to keep your lines tight.

OFFSHORE – Redfish (Drum, Red), Sheepshead, Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) and a few small Sharks (Shark, Atlantic Sharpnose) are all doing well by the islands as well as 12 miles off the coast. If the weather stays warm we will see Cobia move in. The bite has been consistent so far and the main focus for most anglers avoiding the freshwater mix on the inside. We expect this to continue into the weekend however the temperature may drop a bit.

INSHORE – The Red Tide has moved out with the cold weather. Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) are being caught in the rock piles behind Deer Island as well as in the Biloxi bay with sinking Mirr-Olures in the 750 color. The Shrimp have slowed down so most anglers are using artificials or dead Shrimp as an alternative throughout the cold snaps. There are always some great specials on clothes and outdoor gear at Gorenflo’s Tackle Shop so stop in and check out the great deals!

OFFSHORE – Tuna (Tuna, Yellowfin & Tuna, Bluefin) and Wahoo are doing extremely well around 80 miles South out around the oil rigs. The Yellowfins are turning up around 80lbs and the Wahoo are up to 50lbs. Chunking has worked well to catch the Tuna while the Wahoo are taking skirted Ballyhoo on the slow troll. The current front should push the rest of the bad outside conditions away finally however until then most people have been fishing the backwater. We expect the bite to continue in more favorable conditions, hopefully by the end of the week.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – The Red Tide is still looming around in this area but a majority of it is cleared up. The Reds (Drum, Red) are showing up now fairly thick, mainly on artificials. The best are the Vudu Shrimp under a cork so far this week. There are no signs of Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) so far this week however with the falling temperatures we expect this to pick up. The bites should increase as the Red Tide makes its way out and the water is nice and clear.

OFFSHORE – There is still a decent Wahoo and Tuna, Blackfin bite in the offshore this week. As usual live bait is a great choice, Ballyhoo is usually a favorite. Trolling or chunking are generally great methods to catch and being that the bite is fairly steady we can expect that they aren’t too picky.

INSHORE – There is not a lot of action on the beaches and in the gulf this week as Red Tide has been affecting the shoreline from Gulfport to Pascagoula. Most places have been shut down this week. Luckily the backwater rivers and creeks are continuing to produce great Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) and Reds (Drum, Red) so there is still a good bite to be found. The higher you go, the better the bite. There have even been some White Trout (Seatrout, Sand) turning up this week. Shrimp is the best bet either live or dead. We hope to see conditions clear up soon so anglers can get back out on the water. The next cold snap should clean it up. Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – The Tripletail is gone now and the Flounder (Flounder, Southern & Flounder, Gulf) have begun their migration for the season. They have moved out towards the offshore in the deeper water. There are still a few decent bites in the nearshore and outwards however they have become sparse. The Specks (Seatrout, Spotted) continues to do well this week and can be found pushed back up into the rivers and well into the marsh in the deep water. They have begun their winter pattern and are now extremely fat, typical of the time of year. There are Reds (Drum, Red) swimming the marshes, bays and rivers as well coming up in good sizes. A lot of anglers are using artificials this week to contrast with the bait run. Mirrodines, swim baits and lures similar to Minnows have found to be the most productive. Of course it can never hurt to throw live Shrimp you just may be waiting longer for a catch as the fish are less active for them.

BAIT REPORT – Live baiters are still seeing a decent Shrimp run occurring this week. Mud Minnows are also running however they are not quite as thick so far.

INSHORE – There has not been a whole lot of action happening on the inshore this week. There have been some nice big Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) catches from the harbor. They have been swimming with Reds (Drum, Red) and a whole lot of Sheepshead. Live Shrimp on a free line have been the key bait for all three species. Anglers can’t seem to go wrong throwing this. As an artificial alternative Vudu Shrimp have been working great. The sizes have varied over the past week but are expected to increase when the temperature drops just a little more.

OFFSHORE – This week the offshore fishing has slowed down as there is not a whole lot of action in this area. INSHORE – The bite inshore has slowed down this week. The weather has started to become slightly more favorable however there hasn’t been a whole lot of action. Reports of some Reds (Drum, Red) have turned up in various sizes. There has also been a consistent Trout (Seatrout, Spotted & Seatrout, Sand) bite in the area lately. Both are hitting live Shrimp as a first choice. Alternatively Vudu Shrimp or Matrix Shads under a cork are working well too.

OFFSHORE – This week the offshore fishing has slowed down as there is not a whole lot of action in this area. Snapper season is closed now and the Cobia have completed their migration through. Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – The wind has deterred most anglers from hitting the water this week however we do have some reports of Big Bull Reds (Drum, Red) coming up in the bayous. There have also been some pretty big Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) weighing in from 4-6 lbs in the bay. Anglers have been using live Shrimp and finding great results. Alternatively artificial bait has also been working with the best colors being chartreuse or cajun pepper.

OFFSHORE – Due to unfavorable weather there have been very little action offshore. Not many anglers have made it onto the water for reports this week. Once wind conditions settle we expect to see an increase of reports for this area. Anglers who decide to head out this week can always consult our Tips feature which provides additional information and suggestions that could improve the catch. Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – As the weather begins to cool down the inshore fishing is beginning to change. Trout (Seatrout, Spotted) are moving back into the bay along with the Redfish (Drum, Red). With the seasonal changes the bayous are beginning to fish well using artificials. Chartreuse is a “can’t go wrong with” color. Early in the morning some anglers are using various types of live bait however the fish seem to prefer the soft plastics. There have been no reports of Flounder this week however there are still expected to be some swimming for the next little while.

OFFSHORE – The deeper water fishing is producing a solid Tuna (Tuna, Yellowfin) bite. The Tuna are in behind the shrimp boats and Hardtails are working very well as bait. The boats are past the 10 mile mark at this time although continue to move with the Shrimp.

BAIT REPORT – Hardtails (Blue Runner) are sitting on the buoys. They are not difficult to find as they are high in the water column. Sabiki rigs are working well to hook them and anglers are taking them offshore for Tuna. There are also some Shrimp running inshore.

There are also some ground Mullet, Flounder (Flounder, Southern & Flounder, Gulf) and Reds (Drum, Red) still being reported inshore. Anglers are using Live Shrimp or Vudu Shrimp under a cork as they’re working very well for all of these species.

OFFSHORE – In the deeper water the buoys and ships are the hotspots. There are continued reports of Cobia in roughly 60 ft of water. Anglers are finding the Live Eels and Live Croakers are working best.

BAIT REPORT – There are small amounts of Shrimp running right now however the Menhaden are significantly more prominent under the birds at this time.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

OFFSHORE – Due to the terrible weather all offshore trips have been cancelled. If you find improved conditions throughout the week and choose to make your way out on the water you can always consult our Tips feature for more info that could improve your catch. Once the weather calms down we are expecting some very active fishing offshore.

INSHORE – Similar to offshore there has been very little fishing happening. Prior to the storm we began to see some Trout (Trout, Spotted) and lots of Flounder (Flounder, Gulf) along with the Reds (Drum, Red). They are scattered due to the high water levels which are almost three feet above normal. If you are out this week our sources have reported Matrix Creole – a redish glitter Shrimp like lure has been working well. If you can manage to get your hands on some Live Shrimp that would be a great choice as well. Once the weather subsides the Reds, Trout and Flounder should be moving back in for some more active fishing.

BAIT REPORT – All bait are very scattered right now. There was an extremely high amount of Shrimp in the bay before the storm hit, however with the scattered conditions it is difficult to tell whether they will make their way back after things settle down.

OFFSHORE – High winds have produced no offshore reports this week. 15-20 mph Northwest winds have not made ideal fishing conditions.

INSHORE – White Trout and Brown Mullet are biting along the pier and banks using live Shrimp, Bull Minnows and small Croakers. Frozen Squid and Shrimp are working well too. For Redfish, Popping Corks and live Shrimp on the bottom are best. The best tide times are hit and miss. Trout have been biting late at night or early morning and Redfish on low tide in the afternoon. Next week however low tide will be early in the morning so daytime could produce some great fish.

If you prefer the reusability of artificials, there’s MirrOlures on the market that are, as some of the lure names suggest, Flounder candy. Best tide to fish right now is high tide. When the tide’s high, the piers will have quite a lot of water all around them. Danny at Gorenflo’s Tackle says the cold, or as he says “cool”, front coming through should help the water temperature lower a bit to keep the fish happy.

BAIT REPORT – There’s quite a bit of Menhaden around right now if you elect to catch your own while casting a net. If time is of the essence, Gorenflo’s Tackle Shop has a good selection of various organic baits.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – As with much of the Gulf, early mornings for Trout is still the hottest bite when fishing closer to shore. The Trout are still having no issues taking trout dropped to them in the deeper holes or at cooler times of day. Take advantage of the fact that many people are heading back to school or work and you can find yourself on some relatively unpressured fish.

BAIT REPORT – For smaller baitfish you can find Croakers and Pinfish. Traps or nets will work well for them where regulations allow. Shrimp is also around and can be netted with ease.

Offshore- Are YOU fishing or running charters the waters around Biloxi / D’Iberville and want to join the ProAngler team? Drop us a line at tips@proangler.us

Nearshore- Despite the heat, Captain Frank Becker says the Redfish have been pretty steady. Kingfish have been showing up a little bit. 90% of the fishing has been done by trolling spoons as the heat has made sitting still a little unpleasant. To quote Frank: “It’s too hot to stop”

Frank says the fishing’s great and to come on down so he can put ya on some fish.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

OFFSHORE – I spoke to Garrett at Gorenflo’s Bait & Tackle and he was telling me that the Cobia was running near the buoys right now. They are good on Croaker and Eels. Garret Recommends the Eels above almost any other bait. Lots of people have been coming in with average size Cobia. The Snapper season has also opened up till September so the bottom fishing has been on fire. If you are targetting Snapper while bottom fishing, your best bet is to hit them with some deep dropped Pogies around wrecks and other structures. The Amberjacks are also running strong right now.

INSHORE – The Tripletail has been hitting on Bull Minnow and live Shrimp very consistently. They are running in good numbers inshore along the crab pots off Belle Fontaine Beach. The Speckled Trout are also out in force and most people are catching tons of them, especially if you have some live Croaker. Bull Reds have been strong all summer, but they are closer inshore now as they come in from the offshore. White Trout is about a mile offshore along the shallow reefs, they like to bite on dead Shrimp, Squid, or cut bait.

BAIT REPORT – There is lots of bait around right now, especially Pogies. The Speckled Trout, Jack Crevalle, and Redfish are eating them by the dozen.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – There are lots of Redfish around the bay. Tripletail found over by Palace Bridge. The Saltwater Assassin is good for catching Speckled Trout. Other than that try trolling with gold spoons, or the plain. You want to get the fish’s attention so you might want to go with hot pink or chartreuse.

The Speckled Trout are good right now, and the Sharks have moved in. They are good on Croaker and live shrimp. But they are really biting on everything, matrix Shad, plastic, carolina rigged croakers, anything. coming up on the full moon and 3 days after and before there are going to be big fish biting in the Sound. The wind coming out of the west has made everything really murky, the water isn’t going to be gin clear for a while. Real bait is your best bet.

BAIT REPORT – Pogies are silly. Saturday Captain Tony had a party and jack fish were busting the pogies like no tomorrow. 3-4 inches perfect size for bait, tons of them everywhere..

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

OFFSHORE – Trolling and bottom fishing are good.  The charter boats have been trolling for bull Reds, Jack Crevalle,  King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel. They are mostly using spoons and dusters. Gorenflo’s Tackle Shop recently hosted a tournament where there were a bunch of  Yellowfin Tuna and Dolphin. For the Dolphin you’ll want to go out about 70-80 miles  where there are some good weedlines. There are some Dolphin up to 25 pounds. Yellowfin and Blackfin are around there too. They have also been tagging some  Blue and White Marlin. The Trolling for these fish has been great on dusters with Ballyhoo. Purple and Black with a chrome head white islanders are good for the Marlin. For the tuna try a duster. Danny at Gorenflo’s Tackle Shop recommends dark green and chartreuse, pink and blue, or black and purple. Choose dusters that are  5-7 inches long and a little lead head. Then you’ll want to rig it backwards so the tentacles plume over the top of it looks like a squid, then put a ballyhoo on that.  You’ll catch lots of tuna that way.

INSHORE –  Inshore the fishing is good on Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder. A lot of the charters have been using #3.5 and #4 drones to catch these fish.  You’ll want to fish the rising tide and going into the high tide. Thats when you’ll find the most Redfish and Speckled Trout.  On the low tide you’re more likely to  to catch Flounder. They are biting well on live or dead Shrimp. Speckled Trout are biting well on live Shrimp too. Berkley Gulp are doing well too. Around the Chandeleur Islands are good too. The Boats around there spend 2 out of 5 days fishing the shallows in or in about 2-5 feet of water over the grass beds. A lot of people use Shad matrix there too.

BAIT REPORT – There are lots of Pogies around. They are running 3-5 inches long. They are around here in the bay area they are good for Speckled Trout.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

OFFSHORE – Captain Mike over at Fish-Finder Charters has had a great time Snapper fishing. They are all over the wrecks and there is quite a few grouper mixed in. There are also a few small Trigger fish mixed in. Lane snapper has been undersized but they are starting to show up. You are going to want to use cut bait offshore to get the fish’s attention, and you are going to need to go at least 40 miles out.

INSHORE – The main fish being caught here are the Sand Trout, Speckled Trout, Blackfish, and Redfish. The Redfish are biting well on Croaker, while the Speckled Trout and Blackfish have taken to Shrimp. You can’t go wrong with live bait around the Oyster Beds. Everything is biting right now, so get out there and put a line in the water!

BAIT REPORT – Bait is in supply right now, there are lots of live Shrimp and Croaker everywhere.

Captain Mike has some opening so come and have some fun!

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

OFFSHORE – Cobia fishing is really great right now. Captain John is looking for hard bottoms and reefs. He is dropping just about every kind of bait for them; croaker, hard tail, you name it. There are also some Triple Tail out there.

INSHORE –  There are lots of Speckled Trout and Tripltail within 5 miles. Use live Shrimp for the Triple Tail if you can. The Speckled Trout are biting on the Matrix Shad in the the UV colour or Vudu Shrimp in natural or ghost colour. Speckled Trout are in the outer edges of the Biloxi marsh around the islands. It is the prime time to go fishing for the Speckled trout before it slows down in about a month. Tripletail on the other hand will be strong until October.Tripletail are close to shore, on just about every structure.

BAIT REPORT –  There are a ton of Shrimp around. You’ll find them near birds. The Trout and Lady fish are really harassing them up to the top. There are also lots of Pinfish offshore.

Captain John Fryer specializes in Cobia, Tripletail, Speckled trout and other fish of that nature.

Biloxi/D’Iberville Fishing Report

INSHORE – The fishing along the Mississippi coast has been great as of late and Captain Bryan of Mega Bite Fishing Charters has been putting anglers on fish. Trout are plentiful right now as are small Sharks and Ground Mullet. In terms of bait, Shrimp and Pinfish are around and it’s best to ‘match the hatch’ when it comes to producing strikes from fish that are into that summer pattern and are always looking for their next meal. Lures are definitely optional in this area as the fish will be eager to hit live rigged hooks more often than simulations. The inshore reefs are holding a lot of fish right now and mid-tide when the water is moving is the best time to target these productive areas.

OFFSHORE – Captain Mike Foto has been bottom fishing shipwrecks in about 70 feet of water off Mississippi’s Gulf Coast and hammering Red Snapper on Pogies and Bonita strips. Red Fish and Sharks have also been hooking up when provided the opportunity of this very productive technique. When trolling, King Mackerel are always looking to hook up off the Gulf Coast. Sharks, such as Bulls, Hammerheads and Blacktip have moved northward as summer sets in and they are always willing to take a swipe at a flashy presentation. Large spoons made by Gator or L.B. Huntington are excellent choices when trolling for big, aggressive fish. If you are off shore, don’t forget to regularly scan the skies for tips. Captain Mike says “Frigate birds really give the fish away.”

BAIT REPORT – There are plenty of pods of baitfish in Mullet and Big Lake and Biloxi Bay.

Biloxi / D’Iberville Fishing Report

It has been windy for the last little while but it should start to clear up soon which is good because we could use the nicer weather.

OFFSHORE – If you’re into bottom fishing you’ll be happy to hear that the bite is good for Snapper, King Mackerel, Cobia, and Sharks. These fish love when you drop some Bonita and Pogies. If you’re interested in trolling you’ll want to do that within the islands. There you’ll find Black Tip Sharks, Amberjacks, and a new King or Spanish Mackerel.

INSHORE –  Around the Islands, about 12 miles away you’ll find bull Reds, Amberjack, Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish and Sharks. You’ll also find Reds in the passes. The Reds love to chase spoons. So try trolling for them. But if you’d rather use live bait try using Croakers and Pogies.

BAIT REPORT –  There is a good amount of bait around. You’ll find it by following the pod.
