Mississippi Fishing Report

The waters have still been a bit too rough for anglers to make it offshore over the past week. Inshore species have returned to their Fall patterns and the bite has been steady. Redfish (Drum, Red) have shown up nicely and the sizes are great. Find them out front and around the Barrier Islands. Bull Reds are holdings up around outer edges, especially through Pass Christian. The key will be looking for the birds to find the fish. The Trout bite is really beginning to fire up this week. Head out with your Shrimp under a popping cork and the bite should be on. Most are shorts at this point but if you are able to put in the time you will certainly find some good sizes. They are on the move so you can't always rely on where they were the day before. Once you find them, stay on them. Off the beach there have been scattered Spanish and King Mackerel. They are not consistent yet but if you are able to get out there on the troll you may find a few good fish throughout the day. The oddball Whiting and Ground Mullet has turned up on the beach in Biloxi as well.
