There hasn't been any surprises in the area over the past week. The conditions have bounced back quickly and anglers have been pleased to find a steady bite throughout the inshore.
Trout and Redfish have both fired back up nicely. The Redfish are turning up in both steady numbers and sizes. They are back to their usual areas, so fishing shallow will be productive for them. They are also spread out and haven't been difficult to find. Casting both live or artificial setups have been successful. Anything from Shrimp to soft plastics are working well and we hope to see this pattern continue through the Fall.
Despite the water still being a bit warm we have found a good Trout bite throughout the area as well. They are still sitting in the deeper pockets and holes however soft plastics and jerkbaits have managed to find them. As the temperatures continue to drop throughout the Fall we expect to find increased action throughout the day. As of now, your best bet continues to be getting out early and fishing those cooler grassy areas.
On nicer, calmer days anglers have managed to hit the nearshore waters to target the hot Spanish Mackerel bite. They aren't too far out, so you won't have to worry too much about making the run. The trick has been finding manageable water to troll some Clarkspoons. The oddball King Mackerel has been mixed in.
