FISHING REPORTS
ALABAMA
As conditions return to normal anglers have managed to find a few days that they were able to head to the offshore waters. The Tuna bite has been moving in a little closer. The rigs have been a good place to start. Water is cleaning up towards the nipple so the Wahoo and Dolphin bite have been pretty good lately. As we approach the new moon the Wahoo will continue to fire up. Some anglers have even been Swordfishing over the past week. When waters are favorable enough, chunking and trolling will be your best option.
The bite has bounced back quickly in this area and anglers are certainly finding no shortage in fish this week. Redfish are still consistent along the coast. They are turning up on docks, grass beds and throughout the causeways. They are the main focus around Dauphin Island as well. Fishing the moving tide has been the key to landing them over the past week. Both live and artificial baits are working well on a jig.
Trout are a bit hit or miss. If you can find them you'll find a good bite however they happen to be scarce around Dauphin Island. Moving through Mobile Bay we are finding better numbers throughout the causeway but still nothing consistent. The Orange beach area has produced a decent bag in the early morning hours as fish are pulled out of grassy flats and the ICW. The trick here is getting out before the water warms up.
Flounder are sporadic into this week while only the oddball fish has made it's way back in. Once things cool down we expect to see this bite pick up.
