The state of Florida is essentially a long peninsula located at the southern tip of the nation, and it’s home to nearly twenty million people. Renowned for its sunny beaches, pristine coastline, and beautiful, untamed natural habitats, Florida offers something for any avid outdoorsman. Nothing attracts people to this state more than deep sea fishing, and the famed East Coast of Florida is full of top-notch destinations for avid anglers old and young. A famed winter destination for northern snow birds and international tourists around the world, the East Coast from Key West to Jacksonville is rife with opportunity for every fisherman’s dream.

Pro Angler’s top destinations:

Daytona Beach- Located on the northern part of the coast, Daytona Beach is a great location for anglers who are looking for a small city with a big city feel. Not as crowded as some of the other destinations, but still full of opportunity. If you are looking to fish for tripletail, this is the prime location on the planet. Not only that, but countless other fishing opportunities abound like barracudas and sharks, too if you feel so brave. Feel like partying down for spring break, or just relaxing on the beach in your down time? Then you’ve come to the right place.

Orlando– Although not located actually on the coast line, this big city is located close enough to everything to still be considered a top destination. Orlando is not only a great spot for fishing; it is a great spot for just about everything else, too. You can charter a boat out of the harbors located to the east, and go out to sea for a fun day of trying to reel in swordfish, and then come back have a great night on the beach or make the drive back into town. The reason it is such a great springboard for deep sea fishing trips is its proximity to lots of great things. The ocean is close, there are tons of lakes and national parks close by, and if you want some down time then Cape Canaveral and Disney Land are just a short ride down the road.

Cocoa Beach- There might be destination larger than Cocoa Beach, but none are more beautiful. The city is located on a tropical island that looks more like a movie set than it does a real town. The marinas located in the city have direct access to some of the best deep sea fishing territory in the world. You can go after swordfish, tuna, and marlin, then come back to town and enjoy all of the great restaurants and attractions.

The East Coast of Florida is one of the longest stretches of beach in the country, and offers up some of the best fishing opportunities for any angler looking to cut his chops and enjoy the simple things in life. The waters aren’t easy, and the game will certainly fight, but that’s why we like it.
